Press Release
Columbus Hospice of Georgia and Alabama Earns Three Quality Connections Rings

Columbus Hospice of Georgia and Alabama has earned three rings in the 2022 Quality Connections Program. This program is a benefit of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) membership and is designed to enhance the knowledge base, skills, and competency of hospice and palliative care staff.

NHPCO is the leading organization representing hospice and palliative care providers and is the nation’s largest membership organization for professionals who care for people affected by serious and life-limiting illnesses. Compliance Officer, Kelli Wright, states, “It is an honor to be a part of NHPCO and to be recognized for our efforts in quality patient care. We will always be grateful to serve our community, and we are proud that our patients and families benefit from our continuous improvement efforts”.

“To simply say that a hospice organization is interested in quality is not enough. A hospice must demonstrate its commitment to patient- and family-centered care with measurable results and outcomes. One of the most effective ways to do this is through active participation in NHPCO’s Quality Connections,” said former NHPCO President and CEO Edo Banach.
Columbus Hospice of Georgia and Alabama earned its second ring earlier this year and is pleased to continue the journey in quality improvement by now earning its third ring. Wanda Geter, Columbus Hospice’s Quality and Safety Coordinator, has worked diligently with staff to ensure that quality care is consistently provided to patients and is looking forward to earning the fourth and final ring in this annual program. She says, “Quality care can be measured, and it is important that we listen to our community and demonstrate our commitment to them.”
