Full-time Hospice Physician

Columbus Hospice in Columbus, Georgia seeks an MD or DO board certified in their ABMS specialty or the DO equivalent for the position of Hospice Physician.  This position will oversee the hospice teams for approximately 120 patients of this freestanding, community hospice.  This is an opportunity to serve both hospice patients and to provide palliative care services and consultations to the community.

Columbus Hospice is a non-profit, community hospice that has served the Columbus, Georgia area since 1979.  Columbus Hospice serves west Georgia and east Alabama and has offices in both states.  As a fully licensed hospice, which is certified for both Medicare, and Medicaid Columbus Hospice has also been accredited by the JCAHO since 1996.  Columbus Hospice currently serves an average daily census of over 300 patients per day, which includes our Medicare-certified 18-bed inpatient facility.

The Columbus, Georgia Metropolitan area has a population of over 280,000 and offers many cultural and recreational opportunities.  This area has an average December high of 62 degrees and boasts many fine golf courses, museums, and hospital facilities, including two facilities that sponsor family practice residency-training programs.  Columbus is approximately a 3 to 4 hour drive to both the Florida gulf coast beaches as well as to the Smoky Mountains.

The preferred candidate will be board certified in Family Practice or Internal Medicine.  Palliative care experience or the completion of a palliative care fellowship is highly desirable, but not required.  The selected candidate must be or will become licensed in Georgia and Alabama.

Home Team Staff RNs
 
    Love the work you do on a hospice home care team as a staff RN managing a team of hospice patients.  Full-time with benefits, working primarily Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with     minimal on call.  GA &/or AL RN license required.  Recent RN experience required, with some hospital staff RN experience required.  Drug screen and background check (criminal and driving record) will be required prior to orientation.

CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant)

FT with differentials, mileage, and benefits.  Work as CNA on Temporary Care Team providing in home hospice care and support.  Must be available to work different shifts each week up to 40 hours per week, including weekends as needed.
